Chargers sign first-round safety Derwin James Jersey

Another first-rounder is in the books.

The Chargers on Friday inked safety Derwin James to his rookie contract, the team announced. James’ deal is for four-years and worth $12.39 million, a source told NFL Network Insider Ian Giorgio Tavecchio Jersey Rapoport.

The deal Rodney McLeod Youth Jersey includes a $7.1 million signing bonus for James, the No. 17 overall pick from April’s draft.

James wasn’t expected to fall that far, making him a potential first-round steal for Los Angeles. The Bolts have lined the rookie up primarily at strong safety during OTAs, but the Chargers plan to add more to his plate as the offseason moves along,per the team’s official website.

Monday’s decision permits gambling on individual sporting events nationwide — and would let cash-strapped states tax the bets to help boost their budgets.

Research firm Eilers & Krejcik Gaming last year predicted that 32 states — including New York — would likely offer sports betting within five years of getting permission.

But having options doesn’t necessarily equate to having a great running game, and the Lions have certainly lacked the latter in recent years.

They ranked last in the league in rushing last season, are worst in the NFL in that category since 2014, and thought enough of Johnson to make the unusual move of trading up for a running back.

As noted before, NFL teams have traded up for just five running backs in the first three rounds of the last four drafts: Melvin Gordon, Kareem Hunt, Alvin Kamara, Dalvin Cook and Johnson.
